AUIS News | Access Denied: The Lockdown Issue

Hello and welcome to the AUIS News Segment. March brings us all together, as the weather grows warmer, Newroz, Ramadan, and the blossoming spring. While March was set to be filled with exciting events, workshops, and gatherings across campus, recent changes mean that many of these activities will unfortunately no longer be able to take place as planned. With classes temporarily moving online until March 29th, the usual rhythm of campus life will look a little different for the time being. The clubs, events, and celebrations we were all looking forward to will have to be put on hold, but the spirit of our campus community remains just as strong.

During times like these, it becomes even more important to stay connected and supportive of one another. Our instructors will continue doing their best to guide and assist students through online classes, making sure learning continues despite the changes. At the same time, the AUIS CARES team remains available for students who may be feeling overwhelmed or simply need someone to talk to. The AUIS CARES team is dedicated to supporting student mental health and well-being. Offering accommodation, student support, and student counselling services.

Though our plans for this month have shifted, the strength of the AUIS community lies in how we come together during difficult moments. Take care of yourselves and those around you, stay patient with one another as we adjust, and remember that this community is built on resilience, understanding, and mutual support. We must remain patient, resilient, and compassionate with one another as we adjust to these changes. Moments like this remind us that a community is not only defined by the events we share on campus, but by the way we support each other when things become uncertain. By staying strong together, looking out for our friends and classmates, and continuing to show kindness and understanding, we can navigate this period with resilience and hope.

As always, thank you for staying connected with us. While this month may look a little different from what was expected, we hope everyone takes care of themselves and one another during this time. Stay engaged in your classes and remember that support is always within reach. We look forward to the time when our campus can once again be filled with the events, conversations, and energy that make our community so special. Until then, stay safe, stay strong, and we’ll see you soon in the next issue of AUIS News.
